Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate in the Molecular Endocrinology Group located in the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre, within the Divisions of Investigative Science and Medicine based at the Hammersmith Campus, located in East Acton. The salary range is: £26580 - £38730 p.a.
The Research Associate will participate in a project funded by the MRC to investigate the role of thyroid hormone receptors in osteoclast differentiation and function and thus their role in the regulation of bone mass. The project requires a post-doctoral scientist with experience in cellular and molecular biology techniques. A background in skeletal physiology or bone cell biology is also highly desirable.
The successful candidate will assist with experimental design, collaborate with experienced scientists and acquire new techniques such as state of the art gene expression profiling and back-scattered electron microscopy. He/she will have a PhD (or a PhD thesis submitted/in process of submission) in molecular biology, biochemistry or related discipline, good interpersonal and presentation skills and be required to train and assist other members of the group.
