Added via www.jobs.ac.uk. This is a 3-year BBSRC-funded post, supported also by a full-time technician. The research employs in vivo model investigation, and benefits from genetic lines developed to regulate clock and hormone signalling pathways specifically in the lung. This exciting new position builds on extensive links between basic and clinical scientists at the University of Manchester and is part of a wider programme to investigate the role of clocks in inflammatory disease. Approaches will exploit novel cutting edge genome analytical tools, including studies of clock protein interactions with a hormone signalling “cistrome” in the lung and studies of key cellular immune effectors in the control of rhythmic inflammation.
Experience of molecular and cell-biological techniques are essential; experience in the use of in vivo model organisms for physiological studies would also be an asset. The successful applicant will hold a PhD in a biological discipline, as appropriate, and will have at least one publication in an international journal.
The deadline for applications is 11 October 2013. For more information please visit the job advert.
