Based in the Academic Unit of Nephrology, School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Sheffield, this post will investigate changes in nuclear receptor hormone signalling in the pathogenesis of the vascular and kidney phenotypes in autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD). Applicants should have a relevant degree level qualification (or have equivalent experience), technical experience, have a high level of enthusiasm for scientific research, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work flexibly and interact well within a team. Depending on the successful candidate, it may be possible to register subsequently for a part-time MPhil/PhD. This post is funded by the PKD Foundation and is available immediately for a period of 12 months on a £22,332 per annum salary. The closing date for applications is 10 September 2008.
