Represent your Society at the European Union of Medical Specialists (1)

21 Jan 2020

Our Society pays an annual membership fee to the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) and is able to nominate a UK UEMS Representative to the Endocrinology Specialty Section.

This representative would attend annual meetings and provide feedback to the Society for dissemination to our UK-wide membership. Ideally the representative would take up the position for 5 years to retain continuity.

The UEMS is a non-governmental organisation committed to the promotion of free movement of European medical specialists, while ensuring the highest quality of medical care for European citizens. The national medical associations of the countries in the EU and European Economic Area (EEA) are full members of the UEMS, with adjacent countries having observer status. Fifty medical disciplines are represented, not including general practice, of which the most important are covered by 43 specialist sections, including ‘Endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism’.  The UEMS is central to the development of standards for training and education in European endocrinology, and in representing the field at the highest level politically.

The next UEMS meeting will take place on 9 May 2020 in Lisbon, Portugal.

If you would like to represent our Society at this meeting, please complete this online expression of interest form by 15 February.
