The Joint Specialty Committee brings together representatives from the Society for Endocrinology, Association of British Clinical Diabetologists and Diabetes UK and the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) to share information and facilitate collaboration. Topics include service issues such as acute and in-hospital care, developments in the NHS such as the Quality Innovation Productivity and Prevention agenda, and workforce issues.
There is a vacancy for a College representative who would serve a tenure of up to four years. As the chairmanship rotates, usually every two years, between the societies and the RCP, one of the college nominees may to have the important role of chairing the committee for some time during their tenure. The committee meets twice a year, usually in April/May and October/November.
Expressions of interest are invited from RCP (London) Fellows who would be interested in filling this vacancy. Please email Dr Patrick Cadigan, the College Registrar, c/o Ms Catharine Perry –
[email protected] - and include details of why you are particularly interested in being considered, and how you think you would be able to contribute to the committee’s work. The committee’s terms of reference may be obtained from Ms Perry. Please check with your trust that you would be able to get the time off needed.
