RCP annual census of consultant physicians

11 Nov 2013

The Medical Workforce Unit from the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK are conducting their annual census of consultant physicians.

The census aims to collect information that can monitor consultant numbers across medical specialties. This year has seen important changes in commissioning, with the Francis report and the Future Hospital Commission report all impacting on the lives of consultant physicians. Data from the census will help measure this impact and may prove useful when assessing the need for trainee and consultant posts.

To make the census more relevant to you this year, the form includes a small number of questions specific to some of the larger specialties.

Finally, census data is used to notify consultants about the current Advisory Committee on Clinical Excellence Awards round, so if you plan to apply, it is highly important you complete your form.

If you have not already responded to the census, please email [email protected] to request your unique link to the census form.
