Resting echocardiography measurements are poor predictors in heart failure (HF) patients; however, stress echocardiography has some major limitations. van Zalen and colleagues investigated various stress echocardiography parameters in mortality and hospitalisation. Their results identify several parameters which are powerful predictors of future events and the likelihood of adverse clinical outcomes in patients with HF.
