Postdoctoral Scientist in Transcriptional Regulation, Berlin, Germany

11 Feb 2013

Added via NatureJobs. The Max Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics is an international research institute with approximately 370 employees, working in the field of medical genomics. A special focus lies on genome analysis of man and other organisms. The Department of Computational Molecular Biology, Group: Mechanisms of Transcriptional Regulation (Head Dr. Sebastiaan Meijsing), seeks a strongly motivated postdoctoral scientist in transcriptional regulation.

The research focusses on nuclear hormone receptors and the role of DNA binding sites and other inputs in specifying where, when and at which level genes are expressed. The successful applicant will investigate the role of DNA in modulating protein-protein interactions. The group is embedded in the computational department of Martin Vingron, giving you the opportunity to do bench work as well as learn about and apply computational approaches to the data generated in the lab.

Motivated independent individuals with a background in biochemistry, protein purification, structural biology and or with experience with zebrafish are sought. Knowledge of English is essential. The position is available immediately for an initial period of at least 2 years.

The deadline for applications is 28 February 2013. For more information please visit the job advert below.
