The successful applicant will co-ordinate and drive a research project investigating the role of imprinted genes in maternal endocrine adaptations to pregnancy. The project will integrate whole animal physiology and high-throughput gene expression analysis to identify novel roles for imprinted genes in endocrine pathways associated with pregnancy. They will drive research in this exciting new area that combines classical endocrine physiology with epigenetic gene control, by refining existing and developing new methodologies for the discovery of novel mechanisms of hormone regulation.
This full-time, three year post is on the Research salary scale Grade 4 (£30,805 – £36,182 per annum) and will form part of the research team of Dr. Marika Charalambous, to whom informal enquiries should be addressed: [email protected].
