Applications are invited for the post-doctoral research assistant to work on a three year MRC funded project investigating how 11b-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 deficiency protects against age-related cognitive impairments. You should hold a PhD in pharmacology, neuroscience or a related discipline. Techniques include a range of basic molecular biology methods and in vivo procedures. Experience with brain in vivo microdialysis or behavioural testing will be an advantage. You will be join a dynamic group of more than 50 clinical and non-clinical researchers with expertise in many aspects of the biology and pathophysiology of glucocorticoid hormone action in mood and cognitive disorders, early-life programming, metabolic and cardiovascular disease in the 5*-rated (2001 RAE) Endocrinology Unit, based in the Centre for Cardiovascular Science at the Queen's Medical Research Institute, Edinburgh.
