Postdoctoral Position in Circadian Physiology, Montpellier, France

16 Jan 2012

Via www.naturejobs.com. A two-year postdoctoral position is available in the group of Dr Xavier Bonnefont at the Institut de Génomique Fonctionnelle, Montpellier, France. The group is interested in pituitary hormone secretions and their regulation by the circadian system. The project, funded by the French National Agency for Research (ANR), will investigate the functional relationship between two peripheral circadian oscillators. This question is being addressed in dopamine-releasing hypothalamic neurons and prolactin-secreting pituitary cells that form a completely inter-dependent system, showing a high plasticity throughout the various stages of female reproduction. The postdoc fellow will measure the cellular and functional impact of the cell-type specific inactivation of the circadian clockwork at both levels of the lactotroph axis.

Applications should include a CV, a brief summary of research interest, and the contact information of at least two referees. Preference will be given to motivated candidates with a strong expertise in electrophysiology and/or chronobiology. Click on the link below for more information. The closing date for applications is 2 March 2012.
