Postdoctoral position in basic diabetes reserach: Belgium

This vacancy at the Université Libre de Bruxelles focuses on the clarification of the mechanisms of pancreatic beta cell dysfunction and death in type 1 diabetes in order to devise novel ways to prevent immune-mediated beta cell loss (Cardozo et al. Diabetes 2005, Allagnat et al. Cell Death Diff 2011, Allagnat et al Cell Death Diff 2012).

They are seeking a talented, independent and enthusiastic researcher with a PhD awarded within the last 3 years and a good command of spoken and written English. A broad scientific knowledge and laboratory experience in cellular and molecular biology, as well as, rodent handling (e.g. breeding and genotyping transgenic and KO mice lines) are required. Experience with in in vivo rodent diabetes models is a plus. Funding is available for an initial period of 12 months with the possibility of renewal.
