Added via Naturejobs. The Unit of Molecular Metabolism at Lund University offers a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Lund University Diabetes Centre in Malmö, Sweden. The centre hosts outstanding research on many aspects of diabetes – genetics of Type 2 Diabetes, metabolomics and islet biology are among the prioritised areas.

In the available project, the role of metabolic pathways and genes identified in large data sets from metabolomics and genomics analyses of clonal beta-cells and human islets will be functionally analysed. An array of state-of-the-art methodology is available for use in the project.

The position requires a Ph.D. in a relevant area. Expertise in islet biology, diabetes research and metabolism is necessary. Experience from genomics research, animal physiology and bioinformatics is valued.
