The circadian research group, department of neuroscience and pharmacology, University of Copenhagen is seeking a motivated postdoctoral fellow to study the function of the non-image forming system of the brain and the influence of this system on circadian rhythms. The goal is to characterise the involvement of the different photoreceptors in the regulation of gene expression in the suprachiasmatic nucleus, and the secretion of melatonin from the pineal gland by use of histological and molecular neurobiological methods.

The appointee should have qualifications within at least some of the following areas: molecular biological techniques, e.g. PCR, qRT-PCR, microchip analysis; neuroanatomical techniques, eg histology, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization; rodent neuroanatomy and embryology; and a PhD or equivalent laboratory research background in the above mentioned areas. The post is financed by a grant from the Lundbeck Foundation.
