PLEASE RESPOND: EMA Consultation, draft inventory of paediatric therapeutic needs: endocrinology - deadline 22 June 2015

21 May 2015

ESPE members are invited to submit their views to ESPE on a public consultation that is being carried out by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) on an inventory of the needs for paediatric medicines for endocrinology.

ESPE would like to formulate an official position on behalf of the society, taking into consideration the views of the membership. Therefore we would be grateful if you could review the consultation document detailed below and submit your views to the ESPE office by Monday 22 June to enable the ESPE Clinical Practice Committee and Council to formulate a response for submission by the EMA’s deadline of 6 July.

Consultation details:
Based on Article 43 of the European Union Paediatric Regulation, the Paediatric Committee at the European Medicines Agency (PDCO) is working to establish an inventory to identify the needs in the different therapeutic areas where there should be research and development of medicinal products for children. The inventory is based on the results of a survey of all paediatric uses of medicines in Europe and on the existing list of paediatric needs established by the former Paediatric Working Party; it will be published progressively by therapeutic area. Further information can be found on the EMA website.
The document open for consultation is available here:

Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to contribute to ESPE’s position on this important consultation.
