Added via www.NatureJobs.com. King’s College London welcomes applications from exceptional candidates for a range of fully-funded PhDs in women’s health. Studentships are funded by the MRC, EPSRC and King’s Graduate School. Graduate students have access to first class laboratories and state of the art facilities and are supported by an exceptional graduate skills development programme.

The Division of Women’s Health provides a multidisciplinary approach to tackling the origins, treatment and prevention of many of the health issues specifically pertinent to women, whether it be during their reproductive years or later in life. King’s College London and our associated hospitals have contributed to historic milestones in the improvement of women’s health. Today we work across the traditional boundaries of science, experimental medicine, the social sciences and mental health to lessen the burden of disease in women and to develop pathways towards lifelong health.

Candidates are invited to select up to two projects from the following headings:

Stress and early puberty: is the limbic brain the key?

Improved definition of high birth weight infants using customised birth weight centiles – a definition which improves the prediction of adverse birth outcomes and long term childhood obesity

Diet and pregnancy outcome in obese women; influence of a complex intervention. The UPBEAT trial.
