Via www.naturejobs.com. The Department of Paediatrics at Radboud University Medical Center Nijmegen, The Netherlands has a PhD studentship available to study congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) - the most common inherited disorder affecting adrenal steroid synthesis.

In adult CAH patients several complications can develop; one of the most important and frequently detected complications in male CAH patients is the development of testicular tumours - testicular adrenal rest tumours (TART). The aim of the study is to study the etiological features of TART in CAH patients in more detail.

The ideal candidate should hold a Masters degree in medicine, biology or related discipline; have experience with, or interested in laboratory work and cell culturing; be experienced in epidemiological and statistical research; have strong motivation to succeed in scientific research; the ability to work in a team; and should be fluent in English.
