The successful applicant will combine behavioural memory testing in rats with genome-wide analysis of transcription factor binding, using Chromatin Immunoprecipitation followed by deep sequencing.
The goal is to delineate mechanisms of interactions between transcription factor CREB and the Glucocorticoid Receptor, and to find genomic loci that are responsible for the potentiation of learning by stress hormone signalling. Duration of the project is 4 years.
The applicant will have a MSc degree in biomedical sciences or a related field. Molecular biological expertise is essential, as well as an interest in bioinformatic analysis of large datasets of genomic information and affinity with behavioural neuroscience.
Deadline for applications is 20 May 2013.
