PhD positions in molecular biology, Vienna, Austria

Via http://ec.europa.eu/euraxess. Two PhD positions in molecular biology are available in the group of Prof. Heinrich Kovar at St. Anna ChildrenĀ“s Cancer Research Institute in Vienna, Austria to study Ewing sarcoma, an aggressive malignant bone tumor in children and young adults.

The successful applicant will join a highly experienced team of experts in molecular oncology and will have the opportunity to gain skills in a wide spectrum of techniques and to collaborate with international research teams. Candidates should hold a Master's degree or equivalent in molecular life sciences. A strong background in genetics, cellular and molecular biology and experience in basic molecular biological techniques are required. Independent, responsible and team-oriented candidates with excellent communication skills in spoken and written English are sought.

The positions are for a three-year contract. The gross monthly salary amounts to EUR 1,933.30 (EUR 27.066,20 a year, according to the FWF guidelines) and includes health insurance and social benefits. One position is available immediately, the other starting from November 2012.
