Added via Naturejobs. A PhD position is available as part of the DevCom network to work on the ESR9 A Xenopus model of cardiac insufficiency (France) project. The DevCom ITN begins in September 2013 with PhD Fellows starting within the first 6 months. Experienced researchers can start later, for a total period of 24 months.

The DevCom network aims to elucidate embryonic gene regulatory and developmental networks including those associated with disease, by integrating molecular, developmental, statistical and computational approaches.

DevCom fellows will be trained to bridge the gap between developmental and computational biology. The disciplines and research areas over embryonic anatomy and development, genomic profiling, epigenetics, sequence conservation and evolutionary relationships of regulatory elements, imaging, genetic and chemical screens, mass spectrometry, bioinformatics, chemo-informatics, statistics and computational modelling.

Applicants should be PhD students with a good first degree in a life science subject obtained no more than 4 years ago.
