Patients missing out on specialist care (Society for Endocrinology press release, 26 November 2010)

Published in Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, the first paper from the Society for Endocrinology Congenital adrenal Hyperplasia Adult Study Executive (CaHASE) shows that only 10% of adult patients with CAH receive specialist endocrine care, and that there is no consensus on the use of steroid replacement therapy in the treatment of the disease. The study describes a clinical need for research into managing CAH through adulthood.
