Paediatric Nurse Specialist, Endocrinology - King's College Hospital

06 Sept 2011

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the field of paediatric endocrinology to provide maternity leave cover for a period of nine months, with the likelihood of this becoming a permanent substantive position.

This is a well developed role, caring for children with endocrine disorders. The team regularly sees children on the Philip Isaacs day care ward, Toni & Guy medical inpatients ward, PICU, HDU and Lion ward, where it holds close links with the neurosurgical team. Strong links also exist with the adult endocrine team, with weekly pituitary MDT meetings and monthly adolescent transition clinics, and also the DSD (disorders of sexual development) team at GOSH. Weekly clinics are also held in the outpatients department.

You will hold a clinical caseload, including young children requiring therapy for early puberty and children on daily growth hormone injections, as well as giving regular advice and education to children and their families with thyroid, adrenal and pituitary disorders. Audit and research roles are also included in the post, as are training opportunities. The deadline for applications is 21 September 2011. Please follow the link below for more information.
