Paediatric Endocrine Nurses Representative - call for nominations

31 Aug 2018

Paediatric Endocrine Nurse Members are invited to nominate themselves or a colleague for the position of BSPED Paediatric Endocrine Nurses Representative, to take office in November 2018, following the end of the current term of office of Stephanie Kerr. Please see details from Stephanie below:

The BSPED meeting is a key annual event which helps bring together our national team. The Paediatric Endocrine Nurses are well represented at the meeting and it is vital this continues and grows. It is our opportunity to share ideas and experiences, pull together new policies and strengthen our incredibly important network.

The role of the BSPED PENS representative is a unique opportunity to gain a fascinating insight into the preparation and building of the BSPED meeting. The PENS Rep has direct links and support from the brilliant BSPED team as the meeting comes together over the year. The PENS Rep is actively involved in helping build the meeting; choosing the most interesting and relevant topics to be presented, helping suggest inspiring speakers, and engaging our national colleagues. They are invited to be an advisor in the abstract selection; an amazing insight into the incredible work being carried out by our national colleagues. Importantly, they play a vital role in ensuring the Nurses’ Day for Endocrine Professionals is filled with relevant and interesting topics, and delivered by speakers specifically invited. The PENS Rep is also responsible for the BSPED Paediatric Endocrine Nurses Prize.

The BSPED PENS role is traditionally held for three years and moving forward the role will now be shared with a Vice Representative.

All Paediatric Endocrine Nurses – irrelevant of experience – are warmly welcomed to put themselves forward or nominate a colleague in taking the Lead or Vice role from November 2018. To apply, please send your CV to Stephanie Kerr on [email protected] , copying [email protected] by 22 October 2018. Please also contact Stephanie with any enquiries.
