Obituary for Mihail Gr. Coculescu

Mihail Gr. Coculescu, MD, FACE, FRCP, a leader of Romanian Endocrinology, passed away on Friday 25 March 2016 at the age of 72, after a long illness.

He was Vice President of the Romanian Academy of Medical Sciences, leading the basic and translational section, corresponding fellow of the Romanian Academy and the Chief Editor of Acta Endocrinologica – Bucharest.

Mihail was an important personality of the Romanian Endocrine school and was a great scientific leader, bringing together successive generations of students and, despite many limits imposed in the early years of his career by the political system,  was responsible for developing international bridges across the endocrine world.
