Obituary: Dr. Maria Kalina (1)

With a heavy heart we are announcing death of Maria Kalina on 19th
March 2019. Maria was 44 years old.

She was a graduate of the Silesian Medical Academy in Katowice, Poland,
specialist in pediatrics, clinical genetics and pediatric endocrinology and
diabetology.

Maria Kalina was head of the Department of Clinical Genetics at the
Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at the Medical Faculty of the
Medical University of Silesia in Katowice. She was an active ESPE member and was awarded the ESPE Research Fellowship in 2004.

She was an outstanding paediatric endocrinologist who will be greatly missed
by her family, colleagues and many friends throughout the Poland and
Europe.
