While it is accepted that obesity increases breast cancer risk, any association in ovarian cancer is less clear, largely because of the insufficient statistical power of the studies conducted to date. Olsen and colleagues examined the data from 15 studies participating in the Ovarian Cancer Association Consortium, finding a clear association between high BMI and increased risk of ovarian cancer.
