Nominations for Officers and Council members

Officers: Council has nominated the following members for Officerships: Chairman - Professor Julia Buckingham; General Secretary - Professor Paul Stewart; Programme Secretary - Dr Márta Korbonits. No other nominations were received from the membership; no ballot will therefore be necessary and the new Officers will be elected at the April 2008 AGM to take up office with effect from the 2009 AGM.

Council members: Professor Steve Atkin and Dr Neil Gittoes are due to retire at the 2008 AGM having completed four years of service. A call for nominations was made to the membership during the autumn. As a result, the following members have been nominated: Professor Richard Eastell (Council nominee), Professor Evan Simpson (Council nominee), Dr Gerry Conway, Dr Tony Michael, Dr Petros Perros, Professor Graham Williams. Full/Ordinary Members will be invited by email in early March to cast their vote. In order to provide the correct balance on Council, the Society is particularly seeking to elect one basic scientist and one clinician.
