Via www.jobs.ac.uk. A Clinical Research Fellowship is available at the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, University of Oxford. The Fellowship is for one year in the first instance and is aimed at senior specialist registrars in diabetic medicine interested in undertaking translational research in the field of pancreatic islet transplantation. This post will be part of the Oxford Consortium for Islet Transplantation (OXCIT), a recently established world-leading collaboration of clinicians and scientists in the fields of islet biology, human islet isolation and transplantation.

The postholder will undertake a research post in one aspect of human islet isolation/clinical islet transplantation and will be expected to register for and complete a higher degree. They will also be involved in pre- and post-islet transplant assessment clinics and will be based at the Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, Churchill Hospital. The successful applicant will have proven experience as a specialist registrar in medicine with speciality training in diabetes medicine and will be expected to have a medical degree and be registered with or qualified to register with the GMC and MRCP or have an equivalent postgraduate qualification.
