The ECE 2014 plans are really moving forward. In February the Programme Organising Committee (pictured below) met to organise the most stimulating and challenging programme they can.
Holding a Congress of this size is a difficult task, and when you consider just how broad the subject of endocrinology is, the scale of such a project becomes incredible. With categories ranging from the Adrenal Cortex to Vitamin D metabolism, and everything in between, there will be something for everyone in Wrocław.
In addition to reviewing the astonishing number of 1,234 submitted abstracts – a record high for any standalone European Congress – we had to make sure that the programme was full of the best endocrinology from around the world. Breakthroughs in mechanistic understanding as well as advances in clinical practice, and work by emerging talents and established Professors, all need their time on the European stage.
And on those emerging talents, another of the Committee’s tasks was to decide on the winners of the 2014 Young Investigator Awards. Will you be one of the twelve? Keep an eye on your mail!
If you’re organizing a meeting yourself, you can apply for up to €2500 from ESE with the new Small Meeting Grant. Get your applications in before 31 March 2014 to be among the first recipients of this award. And if you’ve got any tips for organising scientific meetings, why not tweet us using the hashtag #ece14, or comment on this post on Facebook using the box below.
