New impact factors of Society's journals

09 Jul 2012

We are very pleased to announce the new (2011) impact factors of the Society's four official journals.

Journal of Endocrinology climbs to new heights with an impact factor of 3.548. This is the fifth year in a row that its impact factor has increased. This success can be attributed to a strict acceptance policy united with publishing a combination of high-quality research and reviews.

Journal of Molecular Endocrinology holds its own with an impact factor of 3.485. The similarity of JOE and JME in the 2011 impact factors means these two journals are in a strong position to move forward strategically with their new joint board structure, which comes into being from January 2013.

Endocrine-Related Cancer continues to stand strong with an impact factor of 4.364 (five-year figure 4.751). This puts it in the top quartile in both its categories: oncology and endocrinology & metabolism. The energetic commissioning strategy combined with a strict acceptance policy should stand ERC in good stead to build on this in future years.

The Society's official clinical journal Clinical Endocrinology has held firm at 3.168 with an underlying five-year figure of 3.249. This cements the journal’s position as a key publisher of research on the clinical aspects of endocrinology and a must read for those engaged in research and also for those involved primarily in clinical practice.

The Society's new Open Access journal, Endocrine Connections, publishes original quality research in all areas of endocrinology, with a focus on papers that have relevance to its related and intersecting disciplines and the wider biomedical community.
