New BSPED Lifetime Achievement Award

The British Society of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes (BSPED) has launched a new Lifetime Achievement Award. The award is named The James M Tanner Award, in honour of the British paediatric endocrinologist best known for his seminal growth studies and development of the Tanner scale. This is the most prestigious BSPED award, given in recognition of an outstanding overall contribution to the field of paediatric endocrinology and diabetes.

This award acknowledges many facets, including excellence in leadership, scientific research, teaching and mentorship. It is a new award, launched at the 46th Annual BSPED meeting in Birmingham, November 2018. It will be awarded each year at the BSPED Annual Conference.

Nominations for the 2019 Award are welcomed from all BSPED members and should be submitted by 28 February 2019. All details can be found in the Awards section of our website.
