Nominations for the National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs) science prize are now open. This annual award recognises and rewards a piece of primary research published in a peer-reviewed journal in the last three years which has implications for replacing, reducing and refining the use of animals in science. The £20,000 prize is sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline and this year, for the first time, is open to applicants from UK and overseas institutions.

The deadline for nominations is 4pm (GMT), 13 December 2012 and nominated papers should have been published between September 2009 and September 2012. The prize will be awarded in February at a high-profile ceremony in London, UK. Click on the link below for further details and to make a nomination.
