National Osteoporosis Guideline Group (NOGG)

05 Mar 2009

The National Osteoporosis Guideline Group (NOGG) was established to provide a clinical guideline for the management of men and women at high fracture risk, particularly to address the need to integrate the expression of a patient's fracture risk as a 10-year probability (the output from FRAX®) with current clinical management of osteoporosis. This included the need to define thresholds for BMD measurement and treatment. The NOGG Guideline has been produced with the support of the Bone Research Society, British Geriatric Society, British Orthopaedic Association, British Society of Rheumatology, Primary Care Rheumatology Society, Royal College of Physicians, Society for Endocrinology, National Osteoporosis Society, Osteoporosis 2000 and Osteoporosis Dorset. Copies of a summary of the NOGG guidelines will be available at the Society for Endocrinology BES 2009 meeting in Harrogate. Please visit the Society stand in the exhibition hall to pick up a copy. Further details are available at the NOGG website below.
