In 2011 the National Osteoporosis Foundation has £250,000 of available funding for research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis and other metabolic bone disorders. Candidates are invited to apply to PhD studentships, research grants and pilot project grants.

Their research priorities include (but are not confined to): Long-term effects of bisphosphonates (bone quality, adverse effects), bone turnover markers, and vitamin D and obesity's influence on bone loss.
