As many of you may know, we received the very sad news that Malcolm Donaldson passed away last week. Malcolm qualified in medicine at Bristol University in 1973 and from 1989 until his retirement in 2012, he worked as a Senior Lecturer in Child Health at Glasgow University. He received the BSPED James Tanner award in 2023 in recognition of an outstanding lifetime contribution to the field of paediatric endocrinology and diabetes. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and this loss will undoubtedly be felt throughout our paediatric endocrine community. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this extremely difficult time. An obituary will be published on the BSPED website in due course and tribute will be paid to him at the forthcoming Annual Meeting.
