The University of Glasgow is offering Lord Kelvin Adam Smith fellowship appointments in the College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences as part of a major programme of investment in the University’s future research portfolio. Fellowship packages are aimed at attracting outstanding researchers and providing them with support and mentoring to develop their own careers within this world-leasing research environment.

At Glasgow, fellowship holders will benefit from a proven peer group mentoring programme and have the opportunity to be transferred to an open ended lecturing contract, subject to performance and strategic fit.

The Institute of Neuroscience and Psychology wishes to recruit top-level early career scientists with a developing exceptional track record in any of the following areas, as broadly specified, to complement and promote the existing interdisciplinary research portfolio: mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, autism and depression; molecular pharmacology and cell signaling systems; sensory and motor networks; spinal cord injury; chronic pain; stroke; clinical neuropsychology; cognitive neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG, MEG, TMS); cognitive, affective and social neuroscience; models of cortical information processing of cognitive functions; social interactions; hormones and behaviour.

As part of the application, candidates are required to provide a short research proposal of no more than 2 pages of A4 to include details of any University Academic Staff they have discussed the proposal with.
