Plasma metanephrines (PMN) are highly sensitive for diagnosis of pheochromocytoma, but the natural history of PMN before pheochromocytoma diagnosis has not been previously described. Here Olson et al. compare the progression of PMN before pheochromocytoma diagnosis to match healthy and essential hypertension disease controls.
