Locum Research Fellow in Endocrine Surgery, London

This 6-month locum post is designed to underpin the research activities of the endocrine team on the King’s Campus whilst we endeavour to identify the optimal person to strengthen our basic science/translational research portfolio. A transition of the locum post-holder into an engagement on longer terms is welcome provided a suitable skill set is present. In the six months period the post-holder is expected to fulfil the following tasks: Author a publication on the surgical practice of modified radical neck dissection using a limited incision (for a peer reviewed journal); Author a review (for peer reviewed publication) on molecular diagnostic strategies in the pre-operative diagnosis of thyroid cancer; Contribute to and co-author two further publications in the field of parathyroid pathology; Underpin the consultant’s efforts in reviewing literature around the potential of molecular diagnosis of thyroid cancer; Participate in hands-on molecular biology research in a pilot experiment.
