Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer (non-clinical) in Cell Biology/Physiology within the Cell Biology Section of the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism based at Imperial College London. You will perform research into the molecular mechanisms by which pancreatic b- and other islet cells sense glucose, and how these mechanisms may become defective in type 2 diabetes or obesity.

Post-doctoral experience in cellular imaging (e.g. confocal or epifluorescence microscopy) or patch-clamp electrophysiology, molecular biology, and transgenic or knockout mouse models, would be an advantage. A PhD in biochemistry, cell biology or physiology, along with extensive research experience is essential. You may be eligible to receive extra salary in relation to teaching for the first three years of appointment.
