New research published in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology shows that those who received the COVID-19 vaccine were less likely to suffer severe symptoms when compared to unvaccinated individuals. This was shown to be true irrespective of body weight, despite increased risks to the obese or overweight being recognised at the start of the pandemic.
