The winner of the 2013 JOE/JME prize is Dr Vicki Smith of the University of Birmingham after being nominated by Professor Chris McCabe. This year's prize was awarded by Journal of Molecular Endocrinology which alternates each year with Journal of Endocrinology in presenting this award.

It is designed to recognise an outstanding young researcher who has made a significant contribution to research in basic endocrinology. The prize consists of a certificate and €2000 and will be presented during the upcoming ECE 2013, (27 April - 1 May) where Dr. Smith will be giving a short presentation on her research.
