As part of our strategy to become ‘a world-leading authority on hormones’ it is vital to increase our global presence through attendance at international conferences. Earlier this year we exhibited at ECE in Copenhagen and more recently we joined the global endocrine community at ENDO2013, San Francisco.
As one of Europe’s premier and the UK’s leading professional association committed to promoting the global advancement of endocrinology, we spoke to our international colleagues about how together we can influence change for good. Key messages were given as to why our international colleagues should join the Society. These included: access to funding; increased international exposure and influence; collaboration on key projects to advance knowledge and understanding; keeping up-to-date with the latest developments within endocrinology from the UK, Europe and the rest of the world; engaging and networking with colleagues around the world; and supporting the Society in raising the profile of endocrinology.
Attendance at recent international endocrine conferences has helped towards raising our profile within the global endocrine community, attracted new Members to the Society and worked towards becoming the 'voice' of endocrinology.
