Horizon 2020: translational approaches to disease modifying therapy of type-1 diabetes mellitus

The European Commission’s Horizon 2020 invites proposals to address the rising incidence of type-1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM). The overall aim of the project is to significantly progress the understanding of T1DM and its patients by bringing together leading clinicians and researchers from the areas of immunology, β-cell biology, and biomarker research from academia and industry. It is expected that this initiative will significantly progress the molecular understanding of the pathophysiology of T1DM and of the impact provided by standard of medical care upon T1DM patients.
