Overview

Reporting to the Chief Executive and heading up the new Sales Department, this is a Leadership Team role within the Society for Endocrinology’s trading subsidiary, Bioscientifica. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing this new Division and defining and overseeing the implementation of a sales strategy designed to maximise sales and profitability of SfE Group products in line with Group objectives.

Key objectives

Main duties will involve:

  • Deliver target sales revenue
  • Define and quantify market opportunities  across multiple customer groups in all geographic territories
  • Maintain key account relationships and sales responsibility for a defined list of high value customers
  • Manage sales agency and distributor arrangements to maximise output and revenue
  • Formulate, direct, oversee and implement sales activities and policies to promote SfE Group and its products and services, retain and grow the Group customer-base, increase customer lifetime value, and maximise revenue across the organisation
  • Create and manage the department’s annual operational budget

  • A leader with a proven collaborative approach and the ability to develop teams
  • Highly developed consultative sales skills
  • Proven track record in academic journals and digital product sales
  • Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical market
  • Demonstrable broad commercial acumen
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrable ability in resource and budget planning
  • Experience of managing and developing a small team and for promoting a culture of high performance
  • Educated to degree level
