Medical Research Council Human Nutrition Research (MRC-HNR),  in Cambridge, UK, conducts nutrition research and surveillance to improve the health of the population with a focus on obesity and metabolic risk, musculoskeletal health, intestinal health and nutritional inequalities. They seek to fill a number of positions including:

An Investigator Scientist to conduct research investigating the characterisation of a healthy bone phenotype at different stages of life, and in different populations. The candidate will have a PhD or equivalent in a biological or medical science; experience of physiology research; and knowledge or experience of different stages of life and/or lifestyle with respect to nutrition and bone health. Deadline: 18 August 2013.

3 Group Leaders to lead independent programmes of research at MRC Human Nutrition Research. Applicants with programmes of research that synergise with the strengths of the Unit and with the 5 existing programmes are particularly welcomed. It is anticipated that the successful applicants will be researchers interested in public health nutrition, integrative physiology and/or nutritional biochemistry although there may be opportunities for outstanding applicants with other research interests relevant to our work. Clinical and non-clinical backgrounds will be equally considered. Deadline: 10 September 2013.
