Gamma knife in acromegaly

04 Nov 2009

Ronchi and colleagues evaluate the efficacy of gamma knife radiosurgery in a large series of acromegalic patients over a 10 year monitoring period. High cure rates and adequate control with low side effects – such as visual impairment or recurrence – was tempered with an increase in novel pituitary deficiencies in 50% of the patient group such as hypoadrenalism.
