The European Young Endocrine Society (EYES) had their social networking event last night which allowed young endocrinologists to "Stop, collaborate and listen".
The evening began with a buffet of delicious meals from Polish cuisine. There were many familiar faces from last year's EYES meeting in Rotterdam, as well as newcomers to our initiative. Dominik Schulte and Max Bielohuby thanked the local organising committee - Klub30 - and ESE for putting together a great event. It also happened to be Max's birthday, so "happy birthday" was sung in three different languages! Then out came a nicely decorated cake which both surprised and thrilled the birthday boy!
At some point, a group of "young at heart" leading endocrinologists joined in on the celebrations. The night continued on with everyone "busting a groove" altogether on the dance floor and enjoying themselves....
The EYES is a great support network, and I encourage all young endocrine scientists to become a member and get involved! The next EYES meeting will be held September 24-26 in Belgrade, Serbia. Abstract submissions close 20 June 2014, so get in before its too late! For more information: http://www.eyes2014.org/
