Transsphenoidal surgery remains the first choice of treatment for Cushing’s disease, but this study published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation shows that inhibitors of tyrosine kinase against epidermal growth factor receptor could perhaps be used to reduce tumour size prior to surgery or to treat recurrent disease after surgery.
