European Society of Endocrinology Nurses' Group Update

11 May 2015

The European Society of Endocrinology Nurses’ Group provides a support network and resources for endocrine nurses based in Europe. The Group aims to develop and promote the role of endocrine nurses and raise the profile of Endocrine Nursing throughout Europe.

ESE’s Nurses’ Working Group sprung from an initial suggestion by Professor Pia Burman (Sweden) of the ESE Clinical Committee that ESE  host a nurses’ symposium at ICE/ECE 2012 in Florence. The event was a great success and resulted in the official formation of the ESE Nurses’ Working Group at ECE 2013 in Copenhagen.

The Nurses’ Working Group prides itself on its close relationship with patients, with patient speakers becoming a regular and much anticipated feature of the Nurses’ symposia. In 2014 the Group took a step forward by extending an invitation to patient support groups across Europe to take part in their sessions.

Now in its third year, the ESE Nurses’ Group continues to leap from strength to strength hosting an ever increasing series of events at the annual ECE. This year the Nurses’ programme features a packed pre-congress programme including sessions on Diagnosis and Surgical Treatment, Medical Treatment and Education, Long Term Monitoring, and Hypopituitarism Post-Surgery and Quality of Life, as well as three dedicated Nurse Sessions during ECE itself.

The ESE Nurses’ Working Group looks forward to welcoming you to ECE 2015 in Dublin – it promises to be a great event!
