The European Research Council (ERC) has issued a call for proposals to its Advanced Investigators Grants, which fund research at the frontiers of knowledge, and encourage new productive lines of enquiry and new methods and techniques including unconventional and multi-disciplinary approaches.

The ERC is particularly keen to encourage excellent proposals which involve the establishment of a new research activity in the EU or the associated countries by a Principal Investigator who is moving from a third country into the EU or the associated countries, and additional funding can be obtained for the purpose of relocation.
